Yellowing Due to BHT

 

The James Heal Test Kit1 is the recommended procedure for determining the propensity of a white product to yellow. Committee Round Robin testing supported that this is a viable test for determining the propensity to yellow in storage.  

    Based on the outcome of the round robin, AATCC Committee RA71 on Hosiery Technology has been reinstated and working on adoption of the James Heal Test as an AATCC Test Method. The degree of yellowing will be assessed with the AATCC Gray Scale for Staining.
