HICKORY, NC – International Legwear Group (ILG), one of the nation’s largest sock manufacturers, today announced the appointment of Doug Auer as chief merchandising officer.
In this capacity, Auer will be responsible for all customer-facing aspects of the company. Auer became vice president of marketing of Ellis Hosiery Mills (Ellis) in 2000 and maintained that role through ILG’s acquisition of Ellis in 2003 until 2004. Before joining Ellis, Auer held senior sales and market- ing roles at Seneca Knitting Mills, Sara Lee Sock Company, and Chipman Union Inc. Russ Reighley, president of ILG, welcomed Auer’s arrival. “We are focusing everything at ILG on customer satisfaction. Doug and his team will combine the industry’s best sales, marketing, and design professionals to produce products and services that exceed the wants and needs of American consumers. We are fortunate to have attracted Doug’s experience and strategic thinking to ILG,” said Reighley. Auer added, “ILG will keep a singular focus on our customers’ needs and the desires of their shoppers.” “Our first mission,” outlined Auer, “is to support our retail partners and ensure that we have the right products in the right stores at the right time. That’s a simple promise that I know we can deliver now that we have our eyes back on the customer.” Auer will oversee four service areas at ILG, including sales, marketing, design, and account services. His team will include William (Tim) Kanzler, John Ceneviva (senior vice president of marketing and general manager of the Peds® Division), Kimberly Bost (vice president of design and merchandising), and Jan Burton and Terah Van Sickler (account managers).
